In the wake of Rachel's suspension and the Troubletones' obvious superiority, Finn recruits some much-needed New Directions members ahead of the McKinley High-hosted Sectionals competition. One of those recruits is Sam, who Finn convinces to come back to the glee club. Sam marks his return with a cover of Toby Keith's 'Red Solo Cup.'
The new New Directions are feeling in a Jackson mood this episode, taking on the King of Pop's 'Man in the Mirror,' the Jackson 5's 'ABC,' and Janet Jackson's 'Control.' Speaking of control, new Warbler hottie Sebastian makes a second pass at Blaine, testing Kurt's man's own self control.
As previewed on AOL Music last week, the New Directions' main in-house competition, the Troubletones, show a united front in the wake of Santana's coming out and perform a mash-up of the 2001 Destiny's Child hit 'Survivor' and the 1978 Gloria Gaynor disco classic, 'I Will Survive.'
The cast also takes on Fun's 'We Are Young,' while 'Glee Project' runner-up Lindsay Pearce returns as fellow NYADA hopeful Harmony, performing 'Buenos Aires' from 'Evita.'
