Describe the concept for the 'Crash Your Party' video treatment.
The video starts with us in a regular living room, doing our normal YouTube thing playing 'Crash Your Party.' Then, the YouTube background falls down and we climb into our piano case, go though the floor, and crash onto our neighbors table just as they're eating breakfast! We continue to "crash" a lot of different scenarios, from a kid's birthday party, to a jazz lounge, to finally ending up on the big stage! It is directed by Syndrome, an amazing production team from Los Angeles, who also worked with us to come up with the treatment of the video!
What were your inspirations for all the stylish looks you rock and the set design for the video?
Overall stylistically we have a very strong retro and hip-hop influences, and used a lot of the hip-hop videos from the late '90s and early 2000's for visual inspiration.
What were some of the challenges you faced while putting together your first official music video?
There was definitely a few challenges, but having a whole team work with you to make a video is amazing!!! We are so used to doing literally everything ourselves, so we had great experience from doing all of our own YouTube videos. Probably the biggest challenge was getting through the day. It was a 21-hour shoot!! But it was worth every minute.
You were discovered posting covers of other people's songs on YouTube, what are your reactions to all the 'Crash Your Party' covers popping up now?
It's incredible!! And these guys sound great! One of our favorite parts of doing the covers is that we get to completely change up the song, either with a different feel or different genre. So, seeing other people do it with one of our songs is so cool to see!
