Katy already set a new record when she became the first woman to earn five No. 1's off a single album, but she's not stopping there! The new remixed version of 'The One That Got Away,' which has thus far peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, will feature a new verse by rapper B.o.B.
This is quite the calculated move on the part of camp Katy. Her previous two singles, 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' and 'E.T.,' only hit No. 1 after their respective Missy Elliott and Kanye West remixes were released.
The new remix, set to be released within the next week, isn't the first tactic the singer has employed to grab that coveted sixth No. 1. In a bold move, Katy lowered the price of 'The One That Got Away' on iTunes from $1.29 to 69 cents in an attempt to encourage more buyers.
Will Katy's strategic moves turn into Billboard record gold, or will 'The One That Got Away' ironically prove to be the No. 1 that got away? We'll have to wait and see!
