After confirming his engagement to Britney Spears in a text message to 'Access Hollywood,' Jason Trawick and his bride-to-be flew last night (Dec. 16) to Las Vegas, where they celebrated his 40th birthday, the Daily Mail reports. The happy couple posed for photos, and Brit showed off her new bling -- a Neil Lane engagement ring said to feature a three-carat stone and pave diamonds on the band.

"Tonight was one of the most magical nights of my life," Spears tweeted. "Such an amazing time with my new fiancé and our closest friends and family. #Blessed."

In his text to 'Access Hollywood' host Billy Bush, Trawick revealed that he popped the question in the presence of Britney's two sons, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5. He added that he was "over the moon."

The Vegas partying reportedly began with dinner at the Chocolate Lounge at the Sugar Factory in the Paris Hotel and continued at the Chateau nightclub. It seems the lovebirds steered clear of the Palms Casino Hotel, where Spears stayed in January 2004 after marrying childhood friend Jason Alexander at the Little White Chapel. That marriage was annulled after just 55 hours.
