Hil relied on the power of prayer, and her fans, to help get through this troubling time. "Could every1 please say a prayer for my pup lola, she has surgery in a half hour!" Duff wrote to her Twitter followers last Tuesday (Dec. 13). "She's a strong girl but needs all good energy sent her way."
Although the Hilary's rep declined to comment on why the petite pooch needed surgery, Lola has sadly dealt with many other health ailments throughout this year. Over the summer, Duff shared that the Chihuahua was experiencing mysterious seizures. Then, in September, the singer rushed the dog to the ER with an eye infection.
But hopefully all of that is behind the pop star and her pooch. Duff seemed hopeful that Lola's amazingly quick recovery from surgery is a good sign of things to come. On Sunday, Hilary tweeted: "Lola update: she is getting a bit better everyday it was major surgery and I have to keep that in mind. still in the hospital :( home on Tuesday."
Then, yesterday afternoon, Duff shared this wonderful holiday news: "Could not have asked for a better gift! Got 2bring Miss Lola home 2day!" she tweeted. "She is standing up by herself! And taking some steps! Big improvement!"
Keep spoiling Lola with doggy treats, Hil, and we're sure she'll be feeling 100% in time for Christmas!
