"I can't thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers," Gomez wrote yesterday (Dec. 26) afternoon. "I love you all so much," she added. "We hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!"
The message was signed by Selena, her mom and stepfather, as well as "our guardian angel Scarlett."
Selena's mother, who had just publicly announced her pregnancy this past Thanksgiving, reportedly suffered the miscarriage the week before Christmas. At the time, Gomez cancelled various concert engagements to rush home to be with her mom.
During her family's tragic time, boyfriend Justin Bieber stuck by Selena's side, visiting the singer and her mother in the hospital after their loss. Cameras even caught what appeared to be Justin tearing up as he drove into the hospital's parking garage.
Hopefully with this cathartic letter, the healing process has now begun for Selena. We're sure the singer's New Year's Eve plans, which involve ringing in 2012 with longtime best friend, Demi Lovato, will help ease Selena's shock and pain and start her new year off on a brighter note.
