Katy Perry Tweets About Divorce, Claims No One Speaks for Her

So far, Katy Perry hasn't had much to say about the dissolution of her marriage to comedian Russell Brand, who filed for divorce last month. She finally broke her silence last night (Jan. 7), but it was only to say that she -- and she alone -- will comment when she's good and ready.

"Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me," the 'Teenage Dream' singer tweeted. "Not a blog, magazine, 'close sources' or my family."

Those last two words, "my family," were telling. As previously reported, the pop star's pastor parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, spoke of her divorce last week at a church in Ohio, implying that the split was something of a blessing.

"I'm sure Katy is trending on the internet just to get you to church tonight," Mary said, according to TMZ. "I mean all over the world, who knows how God is bringing them in? The most important thing is you are here and God wants to put the fire in you in 2012."

"What has taken place in my daughter's life has opened many opportunities to go in and be with guarded and gated people," her father added.

If the 'California Gurl' is peeved at the media and her parents, there's one group of people she's not mad at: her fans.

"I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world," she tweeted yesterday. "You guys have made my heart happy again."

Of all the young pop stars I have considered her the most centered. This divorce doesn't change that perception for me. She's too good for him anyway. The guy should mix in a razor once in a while.

I believe that they as a couple should try to work their problems out through with counseling and not the opinion of the rest of the world. She knew what kind of person he was when she married him and that should be no excuse now for divorcing.

I just gained a new found respect and admiration for Katy Perry. "NO ONE SPEAKS FOR ME." You go girl. As far as these comments here, I really don't know where you get your information from. TMZ--junk, Perez Hilton--Total crap.
Nudity and whoreish--What a load of bulls--t. That's why they call them costumes--it's showbiz. "She has B$tch written all over her face." Wow how amazing is that? You need your own reality show called "Face Man" Bring people on and have you look at them and tell us all about them. Of course the opening credits would need to include you looking in the mirror and identifying the "Dumb a$$" looking back.
