Christina Aguilera Weight Gain: Singer Silences Critics

It looks like Christina Aguilera is staying true to her self-acceptance message from her 2002 hit 'Beautiful.' The 31-year-old pop star is standing up to harsh critics and bullies who have scrutinized her recent weight gain and labeled her as "fat."

Aguilera was heavily criticized for showing off a noticeably curvier figure at Michael Jackson's tribute concert back in October, and has been targeted by the newly svelte E! 'Fashion Police' host Kelly Osbourne on multiple occasions.

Aguilera addressed the issue at a press conference for 'The Voice' on Friday (Jan. 6), saying, "I've been in this [business] for a long time. I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old. You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too perfect, too thin, too curvy, voluptuous, this, that. I've been on all sides of the spectrum as far as any female in this business."

The reality TV judge continued, "As long as I'm happy in my own skin, that's all I need. I'm happy with where I'm at. I have a boyfriend that loves my body. I love my body." Aguilera is currently dating production assistant Matthew Rutler.

Xtina even cited her notoriously racy music videos in a bid to prove her point. "I think my video works over the years have spoken to that ... As you know, 'Dirrty' and so on, and 'Lady Marmalade'. I've been no stranger to being very comfortable in my own skin to take those risks, to take those chances."

The superstar also revealed how motherhood has helped put things into perspective. She mentioned her son Max, who turns 4 years old this week (Jan. 12). "My son is healthy and happy. That's all that matters."

Also she came into the industry using her looks and sexuality. She never complained when 50yr men were whacking off to her videos. Now that people are STILL talking about her looks she has a problem because its negative. Yes I knw she has a voice. I no 20 big fat black ladies that got voices but guess what they were never 17yo smokin hot blondies...

Christina Aguilera used to attack Kelly Osbourne every chance she could calling her fat and ****. Serves the dumb bitch right. When she was skinny, Christina could call out anyone for being fat and it was ok. Unlike you who have the attention span and memory of drywall, some of us remember how Christina Aguilera constantly attacked Kelly Osbourne for being "fat".

I have met both Kelly Osbourne and Christina through working in the music industry. Mrs. Osbourne is a very classy young lady with a ton of fashion sense with her ego well in check. Christina, while nice to me as when I met her, has a rep for treating the people who work with her like ****.

I am on a friends computer, have never even been to aol.com. Saw this story and clicked on it. Couldn't believe the amount of judgmental know-it-all's who know neither the party's involved nor the full story.

So people like Wanderinglionness, who just chastised Kelly Osbourne for speaking her mind about someone while in the same breath, speaking their own mind about Kelly Osbourne, what should happen? Should you and you alone be able to cast your judgements from the safety and comfort of your mobile home?

Can't believe I just wasted 3 minuets of my life typing this.

Kelly might be thin now, but she won't stay that way. She was a fat slob before and she will gain her weight back and be a fat slob again. She should shut her big mouth and stop criticizing other people.

I can't believe Kelly is being such a critical bitch when she had some extra pounds before. She has no talent or beauty even close to Christina/s.

What a disappointment Kelly Osbourne has turned out to be, I think she feels that to be on the show she has to be controversial, too bad. I love Christina's response, and I'm happy that she gave back to the once Kettle calling the Teapot black. After all the controversy over peoples' weight you'd think Kelly would have the common sense to lay-off this subject. I think Christina's outfit was appropriate for stage presence, and I wouldn't say she was fat, just very voluptuously delicious. Go girl -- keep up the positive attitude, and don't let these talk-shows meanies get to you. Kelly remember you get more bees with honey than you do vinegar, work on that Karma.
