"A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe and leaves before she is left," Lovato retweeted on her social media page, quoting the famous Marilyn Monroe saying. Then, an hour later, Demi tweeted fans the following: "The smartest thing a woman can ever learn, is to never need a man."
While there has been no confirmation from either camp on the status of Lovato and Valderrama's relationship, the two were spotted out together as recently as Saturday night (Jan. 7). However, the nature of their date could offer more clues as to what could be going wrong with the couple.
You see, Saturday night wasn't just a date night for Wilmer and Demi -- it was also a boys' night out for Wilmer and Dem's ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas! As AOL Music reported last week, Wilmer spent this past New Year's Eve with Joe in Las Vegas. Since returning to L.A., the new "bros" seem to have gotten even closer, and were spending Saturday night partying together at the club Beacher's Madhouse. Until Demi showed up that is.
Once the teen star arrived, things got awkward. A source tells to E! Online: "Joe had moved down to the front row by the time Demi came. I didn't see her make any eye contact with Joe and they avoided each other. She went right to Wilmer's table."
Could Wilmer's budding friendship with Demi's ex-boyfriend have caused a rift between the two? If another one of Lovato's recent tweets is any indication, it's totally possible. "Loyalty is EVERYTHING.." Demi wrote yesterday. "I'm thankful for my friends who stand by my side."
