The 53-year-old pop icon is currently dating a man less than half her age, 24-year-old French dancer Brahim Zaibat. Before Zaibat, Madonna romanced Brazilian model Jesus Luz, also 24. Even ex-husband Guy Ritchie is 10-years her junior.
So what is it about younger men that one of the most influential women in entertainment can't resist? "I didn't choose to, you know, I didn't, like, write down on a piece of paper I'm now going to have a relationship with a younger man," Madonna insisted. "That's just what happened. You see, that's the romantic in me. I just met someone that I cared for, and this happened to be his age."
When pressed to go into more details about what younger men have that men her own age don't, Madonna shut down. "I don't feel comfortable with this conversation."
Still, Madonna, who split from Ritchie in 2008 after eight years of marriage, listed "being a part of a family unit" and "not having to make all the decisions on my own" as things she misses about married life. "I don't want to live my life on my own," the mother of four confessed. "I love being a mother. My children fill me up in many ways, and inspire me in many ways, but I need a partner in my life and I think most people feel that way. I've never really lived a conventional life, so I think it's quite foolish for me or anyone else to start thinking that I am going to start making conventional choices."
Just what kind of man does it take to fit into her unconventional lifestyle? "Someone who feels a connection with my children and respects the idea that they have to be a role model as well. It's a lot to live up to," Madonna explained. Apparently, she's confident that a man 30 years her junior can play that role just fine, thank you very much!
