Jennifer Hudson, David Otunga: Singer Reveals She Proposed to Her Fiance

While many girls dream about the day their Mr. Right will pop the question, Jennifer Hudson has revealed that her proposal story with fiance David Otunga is far less traditional!

Otunga presented Hudson with an engagement ring on her birthday back in September 2008. A few months later, Hudson thought it would be fun to celebrate the engagement by returning the favor!

"He proposed to me on my birthday and he would complain that he didn't have an engagement ring," Hudson shared during an interview on 'The Talk.' J-Hud's romantic story continued, "[He would say,] 'You have a ring, but how are they going to know I'm taken?' So I had a ring made and then I gave it to him as his birthday gift on his birthday [April, 2009] and the way that I gave it to him was like, 'Now will you marry me!' So I kind of proposed to him, too."

Hudson and Otunga welcomed their first child together in August 2009, son David Daniel Otunga Jr. The happy couple plans to wed sometime this year (2012), but are remaining mum about the date.

What Hudson did reveal is that she's no bridezilla when it comes to planning her big day. "It can get really tedious ... David is a more sentimental than I am, so he throws his two cents in too."

I certainly do wish Jennifer and David the best of luck on their future together. She worked hard to come up from the bottom and has been thru a lot. I think that these two will give it their all and be happy together. Not easy to do for famous people but I prefer to be an optimist and wish them the best.

Na na na na NO ONE CARES. In better news , I was just at walmart & all the registers in the store shut down. They were already short on cashiers of course & when this happened, I was next in a very long line. As I looked behind me there were at least 15 full carts waiting to cash out & the whole front of the store was getting packed with hundreds of people standing in lines. After standing there for 45 minutes, I asked our cashier if I could use cash. To my amazement, she said Lemme axk the boss man. Of course 2 minutes later, I was cashed out. I started to scream that walmart was a bunch of morons & I had solved the crisis by bringing up the oblivious, CASH! That is your laugh for the day peeps

Gee where is my $100,000.00 engagement ring...."how will hoes know I am taken if I am not wearing one?"

1. You will tell them you are engaged then walk away.

2. No woman will recognize that you are wearing an engagnment ring because men don't wear them.

3. Keep piling up the goods and $$$ David you gold diggin.....

I never liked this chick. She was always so full of herself. I remember after her being on the show, to which she owed everything, she acted like she was too good for the show. Her singing just isn't all that good. Now she's either had her stomach stapled, liposuction, or has taken diet pills to lose some of her fat. It's not at all surprising that she would be popping the question to her fiance because she's a bossy, spoiled-brat, diva. Other than the few reservatations about her that I just mentioned, I wish them well.
