Jessica Simpson: Baby Delivery Fears Have Singer Stressing

Jessica SimpsonJon Kopaloff, FilmMagic

Since announcing her pregnancy, Jessica Simpson has been pretty open about every detail of her expectant mother journey. Thanks to the diva's over-shares, fans now know that being prego has turned Jess into one farty lady, who craves ridiculous things like salt-covered cantaloupes.

However, aside from a joke about wearing stilettos in the delivery room, Jess has been pretty silent about her labor plans -- and there might be a good reason why! According to sources close to the star, Simpson is seriously stressing over the thought of delivering her bundle of joy this spring!

According to In Touch Magazine, after witnessing sister Ashlee's physically trying delivery of son Bronx, Jess is swearing off the traditional labor practices. "Jessica can't wait to become a mother, but she quickly decided that giving birth the old-fashioned way just wasn't for her," the magazine quotes a source as saying.

"She knows that what Ashlee went through to get Bronx was worth it, but wants to skip the pain," continues the insider.

Jess has a few months to make a final decision when it comes to her birthing plan. The singer is reportedly due to give birth to her first child (rumored to be a girl) this April.

JESSICA AS A MOTHER OF 5 i know a little about labor, and i know each person and pregnancy is different. its always scary of the unknown, but believe me the natural way has been my best experiences. i have had drugs to ease the pain (which they never did) i have had a c-section (never recomend!!!!) I have had natural no drugs at all (best experience of all!!!!) and i have had an epidural (which if you want it that way i wouldn't do it again) The natural way; yes you will have pain down you know there after but theres tylonel for that. The epidural i had i had pain in my back afterwards for 6 months after 6 MONTHS i couldn't lay on my back. BUT ITS ALL YOUR CHOICE. just talk to your Dr. and make the decision that is best for you that you won't regret after.
It's ok to be scared. just talk to a professional about it! Good luck and Congrates!

Having given birth to my last baby naturally (no time for an epidural), I know what pain feels like and don't blame her for not wanting to experience that part.

Best of Luck to you Jessica. Everything will work out just fine. You shouldn't worry aboiut the "salt-covered cantaloupes," I have been eating cantaloupes that way since I was a teenager.

Okay any of the men posting on here today, raise your hands if you've ever been pregnant or given birth.......I didn't think so. Pregnancy is a natural process, but none the less scary for a first time mother. No it's not rocket science but bewildering the first time around and no matter how many books you read, it's not the same as actually being pregnant and going into labor. In fact sometimes the information in the books can get in the way. I knew a woman who being two weeks overdue was crawling around on all fours, not aware she was in labor, and telling me it probably wasn't labor because it wasn't like in the books. I tried gently to remind her she wasn't a text book and ended up driving her to the hospital, where she delivered her daughter three hours later.

She'll probably be a nice mom. Being married doesn't automatically make you a better mother; as far as I know Susan Smith was married.

Some of you must not have any compassion. Sure, we realize that PLENTY of people have gone through labor and delivery before, but it is truly daunting and stressful, nevertheless. Not everything goes according to plan. Twice, my birth plans were thrown out the window. Thankfully, I still had control of the smaller details, but it is no picnic, and is scary for the woman facing it. I can remember almost sheer panic thinking about labor. Jessica Simpson or not...she is just as entitled to be scared, concerned, etc. She's not being a "diva", she's being a normal woman facing the wonderfully terrifying. You can't fault her for that.

if she's so scared of delivery- perhaps she should stop stuffing herself like food is running out of style
she's huge!
what she should be scared about is tying herself down to a loser - who's only job in life is to follow her around since he is on the payroll he's a yes-man! check out how that worked for britney and her baby daddy---now she's got yet another guy on the payroll too!

Errosandig.... YOU ARE A FOOL! I feel so sorry for any woman that you ever get pregnant, as you will be a terrible partner for that woman during such a delicate time in her life. Jessica has every right to be afraid because labor is beyond any pain imaginable. However, she needs to put on her big girl panties and get over it.
