Avril Lavigne, Brody Jenner Break Up: Couple Speaks Out on Reported Split

Following reports that pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne and boyfriend Brody Jenner have called it quits after two years together, Jenner has spoken out to address the rumors that the couple's romance is at an end.

The pair started dating at the end of 2009, shortly after Avril split from her husband, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. Earlier this week, multiple sources including Life & Style Magazine and E! claimed they had confirmation of a breakup. Allegedly Avril's busy tour schedule and time spent away from each other became a major strain on the relationship. Avril's eagerness to wed despite Brody's reluctance also reportedly fueled the tension.

Now, the Kardashian sisters' step-brother has taken to his Twitter page to whole-heatedly deny the reports. "It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her."

Avril posted a message on her own Twitter page to echo her man's statement. She re-tweeted her beau's message and added, "Luv u 2!!! BrodyJenner."
