Katy Perry: 'E.T.' Breaks Digital Sales Record

Katy Perry may be laying low after her split from husband Russell Brand, but she's still 'Teenage Dream'ing! The pop star's 2010 album continues to top charts and break records into 2012.

After tying with Michael Jackson for the most No. 1 songs off a single album and becoming the first woman to rack up five, Katy has set another record with one of her 'Teenage Dream' album mega hits. 2010 single 'E.T.' has sold five million mark in digital copies, giving Katy her fourth single to hit the five million mark following 'Firework,' 'California Gurls,' and 'Hot N Cold.'

The newly single singer is the first artist ever to have four songs hit the five million milestone! Now that's a bit of good news to help her smile through these tough times. Lady Gaga trails Perry with three singles that have reached the five million in digital sales, and Black Eyed Peas and Flo Rida follow with two each.

In the meantime, Katy is fixated on breaking The King of Pop's Billboard charts record and scoring her sixth single album No. 1 with her latest release, 'The One That Got Away.' The singer has already lowered the price of the original single on iTunes, released a remixed track with a verse from rapper B.o.B., and in her latest effort, recorded an acoustic version of the song.
