Heidi Klum and Seal Confirm Divorce, Say They've 'Grown Apart'

Update: Pop singer Seal and supermodel wife Heidi Klum have confirmed that they are divorcing after seven years of marriage, ET reports. News of the split broke over the weekend, and now the couple has issued a statement explaining their decision.

"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," the statement read. "We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children¹s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

According to Saturday's TMZ report, Klum is preparing to file the necessary paperwork with the L.A. County Superior Court and could do so as early as this week. Sources say the German beauty will cite "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for splitting with the British musician.

The 'Project Runway' host and 'Kiss From a Rose' balladeer have three children together, as well as one from Klum's previous relationship to Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.

The news comes as something of a surprise, as Seal and Klum were known as one of the world's most romantic celebrity couples. After marrying in May 2005, they renewed their vows each year, and speaking with The Independent in February 2011, Klum gushed about her hubby.

"He has infinite amounts of love and patience for our kids," Klum said. "He puts me and the children first."

I can't understand where it went wrong for these two because they always played happy couple infront of the press. I still saw them play 'House' in december 2011 on TV. As for Seal, he pretends. He has a version of his family life out there for the media which is so false. He does come from a background where both parents broke up; his father was very strict but his mother left and took Seal to their native nigeria. But don't beleive all the rubbish he puts out there about being brazilian and all. he tries to project this 'sympathy image' but his sister is married to a wealthy nigerian too and he enjoyed some of the wealth too

I'm sad that Leni never got to know her real father, as Seal took over Heidi's life from the day she met him and adopted her, does he work?? Sorry never heard him except one time on here and he doesn't seem like a great singer to me,although he sure as hell beats RAP!. I think Shoecop is a joke and I think Victoria's statement was just stupid!! I never even heard of SEAL until she married him and started having kid after kid,all 3 look like wild kids that can't afford a haircut and I have to wonder why in the hell NO ONE cuts their hair,you can't tell the differance between Lou and the boys. I saw him one time with her and he pushed her and I thought BINGO!

Who really knows what goes on behind closed doors? Having seperate careers that keep you apart for lengths of time also doesn't help.

Heidi is finding out she will always be just a "Ho" to that big man, Seal. I am sure such a big strong man lik ehim can do better than her skinny butt! She should have known that all along. Oh well she can go cry to Jay Leno, he enjoys listening to her stories; but he's not much of a "real man". At least not for her!

Having baby after baby Never keeps a marriage together. Now all those kids will never again be with both their Mom and Dad. That's sad, really sad for the kids. Yeah, they will "get used to it" but it's Never any fun and is always very hurtful. Note: Don't have a bunch of kids if your marriage is in trouble. It's Selfish and won't save a bad marriage.
