Whitney Houston Broke? Sources Say She's Burned Through Her Entire Fortune

This summer, Whitney Houston returns to the big screen with 'Sparkle,' and if gossip reports are true, her comeback can't come too soon. According to the Daily Mail, the singer and actress has burned through her entire fortune and must now depend on her label, Arista, to keep her afloat.

"She might be homeless if not for people saving her," a source told Radaronline.com. "She is broke as a joke."

The news comes roughly a decade after Houston re-upped with Arista for $100 million -- then the largest record deal of all time. In subsequent years, she fought public battles with drug addiction and weathered a disastrous marriage to Bobby Brown, who she divorced in 2006.

"She called someone to ask for $100," the alarmist tattler added. "It is so sad. She should have Mariah Carey money, and she's flat broke."

Before you reach for your checkbook, consider this: A rep for the 'I'm Every Woman' singer has denied the story, insisting rumors of Houston's financial hardships have been greatly exaggerated.

"That is ridiculous and not true!" the rep told the Daily Mail, explaining that Whitney both starred in and executive produced 'Sparkle,' which co-stars Jordin Sparks and tells the story of a '60s girl group struggling with fame.

I am glad they had info about her new movie "sparkle". People will be dissing whitney as long as she continues to
survive. If it's not money, then it's drugs. There is no way Whitney is broke! She just did a European tour that earned
$36 million dollars. her Last CD sold 2.5 million copies and and entered at charts at #1. It takes money to produce a movie and Whitney is producing "Sparkle". She Has Owned her New Jersey estate since she had it built and
still owns it, though she hasn't lived there for years. Most importantly she took care of her addictions. She's a strong
proud woman who never disses other people and who values her privacy. I believe her gift id god given and
she will continue to defy peoples soMetimes pitiful expectations. Oh and next up is the sequel to "Waiting to Exhale".

I wish her all blessings, because that addiction is an on going battle. I hope that if she is broke, this picture revitalizes her acting career and not her drug addiction because large sums of money is of great temptation to a person whom is a former drug addict. May God Bless her
