We were already going to be cheering for the newly-single star on Grammys night, she's actually one of the show's big nominees this year! Katy's up for both Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for her anthemic cart-topper 'Firework.' Now, the pop diva's performance gives us another reason to tune into the annual event -- it will be Katy's first time hitting the live stage in the U.S. since her split from Brand.
Ironically, it was at Katy's Grammy's performance last year (2011) that the singer shared intimate video footage of her October 2010 Hindu wedding ceremony in India -- including a shot of her wedding dress and her exchanging vows at the altar with Brand.
Perry will join fellow performers Adele, Rihanna, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Nicki Minaj at the Los Angeles Staples Center event, which will be hosted by LL Cool J.
In other Katy Perry live performance news, the singer is in talks with Paramount to create a 3D concert movie documenting her live show and life on the road. Paramount and Imagine Entertainment are still in early stages of developing the project, but we can already envision that pyro-bra up on the big screen in 3D!
