Willow Smith Shaved Head: Why Did the Teen Queen Go to Such Extremes?

YouTube

If your biggest claim to fame was "whipping your hair back and forth," would you suddenly shave off all of your strands in favor of a buzz cut? Most would answer no, but for singer Willow Smith, that answer is YES. The 11-year-old debuted a severely cropped cut yesterday (Feb. 2) on her Twitter page, shocking many fans.

While this story is strange enough as it is -- famous or not, how many tweens do you know who would chop off all of their hair? -- making it even more intriguing is the fact the typically chatty star gave no explanation for her sudden hair overhaul. The youngest Smith simply posted the photo on her social media pages ... leading to speculation that something had occurred in Willow's life to cause such a shocking reaction, a la Britney Spears.

But Willow wasn't the only Smith sib making noise on Twitter yesterday. Earlier in the day, brother Jaden posted the cryptic tweet: "Worst Day Of My Life." Had something happened within the Smith family to prompt such varying, yet extreme, reactions from both Willow and Jaden?

Earlier in the week, Star Magazine released their cover story alleging that after months of speculation Will and Jada Smith are, in fact, set to divorce. Currently Jaden is living in Philadelphia with Will while they film 'After Earth' while Willow has stayed in Los Angeles with her mother. According to a source. "They haven't spent any time as a whole family in months, and it's not going to happen anytime soon -- if ever again."

While representatives for the Smiths denied the divorce rumors back in August of 2011 when In Touch Weekly first reported on the rumors, they have yet to comment on Star Magazine's latest claims.

Are Willow and Jaden's erratic Twitter behavior clues as to the demise of their parent's marriage? We'll keep you posted as this story develops.

I hope Will and Jada get a grip on these kids. It's apparent to everyone they are having difficulty dealing with their parents' marriage issues. They need to stop being "Hollywood Stars" for a moment, and focus on their children. If they don't these children's lives will be played out in the tabloids. Firstly the parent's as should all parents of young children, monitor what kids are Tweeting, and putting on other social network sites. I certainly hope they realize who the real victims of their speculated divorce will be, and keep civility alive.

Why is the headline of the article "Teen Queen" when Willow Smith is only 11? I thought the teen years started at 13. That's the problem with kids today......they're in too big of a hurry to be older. HellO, parents??? Where are YOU??!!! Memo to Will and Jada......your problems are surfacing in your kids....most especially your self-absorbed daughter. I saw her on Ellen about a year ago, and I changed channels, and I LOVE Ellen!
