Justin Bieber: Valentine's Day Wish Granted for Idol's Deserving Fan

TODAY Show

If you happened to be on Twitter yesterday (Feb. 13), you may have noticed the phrase #MrsBieber was a worldwide trending topic. No, Justin and his current girlfriend, Selena Gomez, hadn't run off and eloped. In fact, the story behind #MrsBieber has nothing to do with teen gossip or Twitter rumors. In this case, the "Mrs. Bieber" trending topic is based on a true story ... and a heartwarming one at that.

"Mrs. Bieber," as she's now called, is 6-year-old Avalanna Routh -- a Boston-area girl who has battled a rare form of cancer called AT/RT since she was an infant. Last Valentine's Day, the charity the Jimmy Fund put together a Justin Bieber "marriage" for the little fan in hopes of lifting her spirits.

Since then, a Facebook campaign to have Avalanna meet Justin in person has grown in strength -- so much so that a local Boston news outlet reported on "Mrs. Bieber"s biggest wish. And guess who just happened to take notice? That's right, Justin himself!

Yesterday, JB flew "Mrs. Bieber" and her family to New York City so the two could have a pre-Valentine's Day hang session. During their time together, the TODAY Show reports the "couple" "played board games, signed autographs for each other, and Routh even was able to lay her hands on the famous Bieber hairdo and style it her own way."

After Justin and Avalanna parted ways, the Twitter-loving teen star took to his social media page to post about the life-changing afternoon. "Hangin out with a special little girl. #MrsBieber," he tweeted about the meeting. "That was one of the best things i have ever done. She was AWESOME! Feeling really inspired now! #MrsBieber."

The always-charitable star added "Got some really great ideas from today. ways to #giveback. #MrsBieber really inspired me. Really. BEST PART OF MY DAY."
