Chris Brown, Grammys 2012: Embattled Singer Slams Critics

Chris Brown Grammys 2012Mindy Small, FilmMagic

After being excluded from the Grammy performance lineup for two years following his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown not only hit the live stage to perform twice at this year's event, but walked away with the prize for Best R&B Album, too.

While anti-domestic violence groups, music fans and fellow celebs like Miranda Lambert took issue with Brown's return to the awards show, C-Breezy has spoken out against his critics in a defiant Twitter rant (surprise, surprise).

Outspoken country music star Lambert was one of the most vocal stars to express her outrage at seeing Brown onstage at the Grammys. The singer, whose parents ran a shelter for abused women while she was growing up wrote, "Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl ... Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.

But the embattled singer is refusing to let his critics spoil his first Grammy win. "Hate all u want becuz I got a Grammy now! That's the ultimate f**k off!" he raged on Twitter in a message that has since been deleted from his page. "I'm back so watch my back as I walk away from all this negativity," he added.

But Brown wasn't the only one to come under fire for his Grammy return. Recording Academy bosses were forced to defend their decision to invite the controversial star back to the show. Neil Portnow, president of The Recording Academy insisted evaluating artists on their personal lives is a "slippery slope that we wouldn't want to get into." Likewise, Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich said, "He really deserved a second chance."

Do you think Breezy deserved to hit the Grammys stage twice in one night and win the Best R&B Album award? Tweets us your thoughts @aolmusic!

No man should ever put his hands on A lady. But, No real lady with high self esteem should want to be in his presence. They are two of A kind. She needs to learn to love herself.
They both have know class, Poor girl, Poor guy. After it is all said ,and done. She will take him back. As do hundreds of women. His music has nothing to do with his character. For that matter,JayZ, and A lot of rapper abuse the title of being A lady. They are no different.

I dont believe in hitting a woman. I also am not here to judge him. People make mistakes and we only know what the media tells us about what happen. And who are you all to judge.I have made a couple of good mistakes in my life also and thankfully that I grew up. I wasnt there you weren't there so let it go.

If the recording academy thought Chris deserved to be on stage, performing twice, who has the right to deny him that honor? Not some country twit! She needs to get a life. Remember, "Let those who are without sin cast the first stone". GET A LIFE LAMBERT! GET OVER IT!

Would you stand by as someone was beat to death and told another who tried to help to GET A LIFE?!
EVIL always uses that "cast the first stone" or "judgement" saying. This is how you justify your sins?
Discernment is something that we as human beings are SUPPOSED to use in our walk and lessons down here. DS

this little rageful man disgusts me on every level. . . .he has shown no maturity, and gets set off by almost anything that doesn't praise him. His performance was frenetic, he thinks he's hot stuff. . . we'll see what happens to this little woman banger.

he'll do it again, i totally dislike Chris, anytime he comes out on TV i just switch the channel right away, i do not want to support his ratings at all! these type of men do not deserve a second chance, once they decide to do something like he did, he should suffer the consequences and take responsibility for them

Rihanna probably loves him more now, than before that incident. Those type of girls look for drama like that. It makes them feel loved. I work with them types everyday. It will happen to her again with someone else, but she will be a little more discreet keeping it from the public.

Oh, Faith15 you make me sad......"I work with them types everyday". Wish I knew where you worked. I would report you; call a TV station have them interview you and pray with a great amount of faith that you get fired!
