Miley Cyrus Death Threats: Singer Calls for Security Changes on Twitter After Malicious Exchange

She was all smiles at 'Vanity Fair's Oscar party last night (Feb. 26), but just a few hours before, Miley Cyrus was feeling anything but cheery. The singer took to Twitter to angrily reveal she'd been receiving death threats ... and she wasn't taking the malicious words lying down.

"I wont tolerate someone telling me 2 die," Cyrus wrote of the death threats she'd been getting via the social media site. But Miley didn't stop there. She then went on to call for security changes on Twitter -- for her sake, and for her followers. "I think Twitter needs to take some responsibility and make it a safe environment!" tweeted the star.

Cyrus also went after one of the haters personally last night, calling out user @TheCyrusSlut for comments the bully had posted against Miley on Twitter. "U have nothing better 2 do than hate?" asked the star. "That saddens me. Im surrounded by love Im sorry 4 whatever happened 2 make u so bitter."

Cyrus' slam against this one particular cyber bully prompted her fans to join the fight against online threats. In response to Miley's tweet, follower @nyasiajackson wrote: "omg!! leave her alone..miley has better things to do with her life she does not need you to bring her down" Another fan beseeched Miley to turn the other cheek. "dont give the stupid haters attention they dont deserves that," wrote @BeRadiateLove. "You deserve better girl There a smilers in the world who loves you."

She copies every other starlet's style, past and present, and thinks being a stereotypical bad-ass makes her unique, she only really comes across as pretentious and obscene/inappropriate what have you. I do have a life, for your information, but it's constantly bombarded with crap like this-oooh Disney stars this and that. Thank goodness broadway's talent are invading this west coast, with at least a little more self respect and dignity.

What matters is some idiot human thinks they can get away with talking trash, hating another, treating another of their species like total ****.
That is unacceptable and she did the right thing.
You people are just bitchy and saying all sorts of negatives simply because of her image.

She simply wants attention. She knows she has sold her act to a sex crazed audiance so she's
stuck and will never lose that reputation. I have a simple remedy for her. Don't go on Twitter and yell out for attention. She is getting what she's asking for. Everybody ignore her and perhaps she will go away. Read her daddy's book instead. She's even a disappointment to him and mad as #e## at him for exposing her for what she has become.
