According to a report from Deadline, confirmed by both Entertainment Weekly and The Hollywood Reporter, the planned musical flick has already been picked up by Sony and would tell the tale of three '90s one-hit wonder singers played by Paltrow, Diaz and Witherspoon. The has-beens will join forces and form a girl group in the hopes of finding fame once again.
Beyonce's role in the project remains unknown, and while she is the only actual recording artist of the group of talented ladies, we don't doubt the other three actresses could hold their own when it comes to belting out '90s jams.
Gwyneth showed off her vocals with her role in 'Country Strong' and her guest star stint on 'Glee,' while Reese showed off her set of pipes in 'Walk the Line.' As for Cameron, she has one key element of the girl group down, as displayed in the 'Charlie's Angles' movies -- dancing!
'Saturday Night Live' star Andy Samberg would reportedly pen original songs for the musical movie. Wowza -- that's a lot of star power! Does the 'One Hit Wonders' musical movie sound like it would be a fun flick to you? Tweet us your thoughts @aolmusic!
