Lady Gaga Interview Overload: Singer to Quit Talks With Press After Oprah Special

Lady Gaga Interview oprahCharles Krupa, AP

As part of her rapid rise to superstardom, Lady Gaga has always chatted with media outlets, divulging secrets from her past and speaking candidly to the press about her personal life. But now, 'The Fame Monster' has had it with the 'Paparazzi,' announcing plans to go into self-imposed exile following the airing of her special TV interview on 'Oprah's Next Chapter.' Apparently, the overexposed star is desperate to regain some privacy!

In a preview of her chat with Oprah -- which takes place in Gaga's childhood home and includes mother Cynthia Germanotta -- Mother Monster insists her Little Monsters wont be seeing or hearing much from her when it comes to interviews.

"Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time," the singer told the media mogul. "No press, no television, if my mom calls and says, 'Did you hear about ...' I shut it all off ... I don't read a damn thing."

The announcement is surprising when you consider Gaga's track record with the press. She's openly shared her past struggles with bullying, bulimia, drugs, bad boyfriends and her sex life with the public. The one aspect of her personal life she remains tight-lipped about is her current romantic relationship with actor Taylor Kinney, and perhaps it's that romance that she hopes to protect by stepping out of the public eye.

But Gaga's indefinite break from speaking with media outlets doesn't mean the pop star will disappear from the scene completely. The performer is set to kick off her Born This Way Ball world tour in South Korea on April 27. 'Oprah's Next Chapter: Lady Gaga' premieres March 18 at 9PM EST on OWN.

Considering that the markable Lady Gaga has brilliantly manipulated the media for the past several years, it is not unlikely that this declaration may be yet another clever strategy, baiting the hook for the LAST LADY GAGA interview....not unlike Cher's interminable "Farewell" concert tour.

Does it matter? I mean there is no substance in any interview from her, only hype and self promotion. You might as well make them up and achieve the same accuracy.

It won't last...this no-talent will implode and her career will be over if she can't get the press to give her some attention. The Madonna of the new millennium.

The worst of worst, she's known for provokative videos and crazy outfits, can't say there is any beauty in it, it seems she's a production music puppet just like the name all of it is gaga.

How ironic to constantly scream "look at me, look at me" but then refuse to talk about why we should look at you.

good god, one of my prayers has been answered. BUT....all this does is just cal even more attention to herself when she does go out. Wanna be incognito??? Quit dieing your hair, wearing those assinine glasses and try dressing in regular clothes and a pair of sneakers once in a while. She's no beauty queen. She could pull this off if she really wanted to. Won't last long tho I'm sure. Fame is her drug of choice, just like the Kartrashians.....

GREAT! I'm still hold out hope that she will quit making "music" and get hit by a truck too so I don't have to see or hear about her anymore!
