Wilmer Valderrama, Demi Lovato: Ex Speaks Out on Dating Singer Post-Rehab

Wilmer Valderrama has remained mum about his on-again-off-again relationship with singer Demi Lovato. The much older actor, 32, dated Demi, 19, both before and after her stint in rehab for issues including cutting, eating disorders and depression. Now Wilmer has opened up about his ex in an interview with Perez Hilton, and even chatted about becoming "bros" with Demi's other ex-BF, Joe Jonas!

During their conversation, Perez pried into Wilmer's love life, asking about his most recent fling with the teen star. The gossip site namesake even brought up Demi and Wilmer's lip-locking paparazzi photo from last year as evidence that the couple had recently reconnected. "She's 19, and at the time you were 31 ... What is a 31 year old doing dating a 19 year old?" Hilton demanded.

"It wasn't even like that. It was just a real interesting time for her," Wilmer said, dodging the age-gap inquiry. "We were really just best friends. And to be honest, I couldn't be more proud of her ... She's amazing, she's a great human being. And I'm so proud of her considering all of the different obstacles and everything she's been through. I mean, she's got a pretty good head," Wilmer revealed.

"Like she said, it's going to be a struggle every day. But I was very proud to be there for her when she needed me, and she was there for me a number of times, too. And we have a great friendship," he added.

When Perez suggested it's unusual for Wilmer to befriend Demi's other ex, Joe Jonas, the actor responded, "He's a really cool guy. He's my bro ... There's absolutely nothing weird about embracing someone who has some history that's intertwined with yours." He added, "I think if you're very secure with who you are, there is no reason why people shouldn't embrace the moment, and we shared a moment."
