Wolf took to her Facebook page to take aim at Perry for the video featuring her dressed in military attire.
"Have you all seen the Katy Perry Marines video?" Wolf asks in the post. "It is a total piece of propaganda for the Marines... I really want to find out if she was paid by them for making it... it is truly shameful. I would suggest a boycott of this singer whom I really liked -- if you are as offended at this glorification of violence as I am."
Shortly after the post Wolf took to the comments area to add more of her thoughts. "And as an artist if she took money from the US military to promote their agenda, she should disclose that fact," she said before adding a link with news on the video.
The video begins with Perry severing a relationship and driving to a gas station. From there she sees a sticker on a bulletin board which reads: "All women are created equal, then some become Marines" with the U.S. Marine Corps logo beside it. Perry cuts off her hair in the station's bathroom and joins the military. Perry goes through rigorous training exercises as she sings underneath a giant American flag. The video, which has nearly 14 million YouTube plays since its posting on March 21, concludes with Perry staring into the camera, her face painted in camouflage.
Perry hasn't replied to Wolf's comments. When the video debuted Perry took to her Twitter account to show her appreciation to those in uniform. "Thank u to everyone for the love & support on the video, I have SO MUCH respect for anyone serving any role in the service after this shoot!"
According to MTV, Perry shot the video in February at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base in Oceanside, California. "Literally, I was like, 'I'm gonna join the service. I'm gonna join the Marines,'" she said when the video debuted last week. "We used only Marines... For three days, I was a wannabe Marine, which was so difficult."
This week Perry is releasing 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection Special Edition.'
