Earlier this month the "Boyfriend" singer tweeted a random Dallas area-code phone number with the accompanying text: "Call me right now." However, the number was missing the last digit, resulting in masses of teen girls guessing at the missing link. Apparently most of them guessed the same number because two Texans -- a great-grandmother named Dilcie Fleming and a man named Kent -- allege their phones have not stopped ringing.
Despite numerous attempts at explaining to young fans that they had reached a Texas extension, the calls kept flooding in. Fleming got so tired of the phone calls that she went so far as telling one young lady, "You just don't realize that he [Justin Bieber] has no interest in you what-so-ever," she explained to CBS.
She also resorted to changing her answering machine to "This is not Justin Bieber's phone number. Please do not call again. Thank you."
The two have now hired a lawyer to seek compensation from the teen pop star. According to TMZ the lawyers clients' patience "wears thin" as they have been on the receiving end of more than 1,000 phone calls at all times of day.
Suggestions for compensation include, but are not limited to: concert tickets for Ms. Flemings grandchildren, a Bieber apology, and endorsement for Kent's upcoming online project, and money for any out of pocket expenses. Surprisingly no mentions of fireside fondue were made.
