The 36-year-old Peas rapper, born Jaime Luis Gomez, turned his life around after a 2007 DUI arrest and tweeted to his fans to thank them for their support on his milestone anniversary. "Thanks to all my supporters on this special day. It means the world to me. 5 years of sobriety! #OneDayAtATime," he wrote.
Back in July (2011), Taboo celebrated his progress on the road to recovery by cutting off his signature long locks in a symbolic makeover. "The long-hair scary guy 2003-2007 doesn't live here anymore he left along with the drugs and alcohol, out with the old in with the new," he tweeted before chopping off his hair for the first time in 22 years!
Taboo was sure to not only give himself props, but to give a shout-out to his bandmate on her big day, too. "Ha-PEA birthday to my sister, @Fergie!" he tweeted to the birthday girl.
Congrats, Taboo! And happy birthday, Fergie!
