Debbie Gibson, Diet: New Health Kick Helps Singer Off Anti-Anxiety Pills

Eighties pop queen Debbie Gibson has a new healthy lifestyle and is proud to say she's kicked her dependence on anti-anxiety medications. The singer is crediting a drastic diet shakeup for the changes after adopted Dr. Rutledge Taylor's Better Than Lipo program back in 2009.

"I was constantly going to the doctor. I finally realized my food choices were affecting my health," Gibson, 41, told Us Magazine. "You become a scientist about your own body, to find out what your tolerances are, so you don't wake up one day and go, 'Why do I feel underwater today? What did I eat?'" she said, explaining Dr. Taylor's life-changing diet.

According to the doctor's website, the Better Than Lipo diet is actually not a diet and all. The program is "designed to rid your body of abnormal fat, sculpt those areas you thought impossible to sculpt, reset your metabolism, detox your body of allergens, fortify your cells with nutrients and anti-oxidants, and instill a new approach to health and vitality."

We'd also like to point out that Dr. Taylor just so happens to be Debbie's boyfriend! But before you jump to conclusions about the pop star pushing the product just to bolster her beau's sales, it might be worth considering Debbie's results.

"I'm off medications now -- all by becoming aware of how my food choices were affecting my well being," shares Gibson, who previously used both Prozac and Xanax.

These benzos put out by the big phram companies should be banned. But the FDA doesn't care. It's all about the money wheel.

TLC's Lopez died in the car accident, not a plane crash as listed in the gallery, think they confused her for Aliheya (sorry not correct spelling) who was killed in a plane crash. Rest in Peace both of those Angels.

Since when are anti-anxiety meds spoken of as if people used them for recreational purposes? We know some people do that with painkillers. But really, what next? Are there celebrities lining up to tell us how they "kicked" prescription antacids Vitamins? How about tanning spray?

Too bad she hasn't kicked her Botox habit.

And someone needs to tell her to stop doing that thing she calls "singing."
