Katy Perry Fan Freak Out: Why the Pop Star is Sick of 'Disgusting' Fame

Katy Perry is starting to really feel the pressures of life in the public eye. After her highly publicized split with ex-husband Russell Brand in December, the pop superstar has confessed she's sick of being at the center of constant media attention in an interview with Teen Vogue's May issue.

"I'm tired of being famous already!" Katy revealed. "But I'm not tired of creating," she clarified. "Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do. It's quite a delicate creature -- it's a wild animal of sorts. Just as it can love you, and then it can attack you," Perry explained.

Despite Perry's recent revelations about life in the spotlight, the 27-year-old singer is set to feed the fame machine eve more. Katy just announced the release date of an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at her life on the road -- on the big screen, and in 3D -- in her upcoming concert movie "Part of Me."

"I still want to be as approachable and relatable as possible," Katy said, although she admitted she gets a little freaked out by her obsessive fans at times. "When I meet fans and they're crying, I'll say, 'Calm down, there's nothing to cry about. I'm not going to bite you or attack you or grant you three wishes. Let's just hang out and have a good time.'"

So how will Katy manage to continue to put out chart-toppers while simultaneously fending off the paparazzi and tabloid reports? "I stopped focusing on what other people think a while ago. If you try to be everything to everyone, you'll only end up completely confused."
