Jason Derulo: Jordin Sparks Is My 'Backbone'

Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo make one adorable couple! Following rumors that the longtime friends had taken things a step further, the couple finally revealed their romance to the public this past January. Now, in an interview with The Daily Star, Derulo explains the spark that ignited his romance with Sparks.

Apparently, it took a trip to tropical paradise last summer to bring Jordin and Jason, both 22, together romantically. "We became friends but it wasn't until we were performing together in the Bahamas that things began to hot up [sic]," Derulo revealed. "We got to talk more and more. We've been together happily for seven months now."

Derulo explained how his boo's support helped him through his devastating neck fracture, which forced him to cancel his entire tour in January. "Being in a relationship has changed me a lot. When I feel lonely I can pick up the phone and she's there for me. It's really cool to have that backbone." Likewise, Jason has been supporting Jordin through the tragic death of her "Sparkle" co-star and idol Whitney Houston.

He went on to sing the "American Idol" winner's praises, insisting, "She has one of those spectacular voices that people will know for years to come ... She also is a great cook."
