One Direction, Niall Horan Toast: Singer's Half-Eaten Breakfast Sells for Staggering Sum, Band Announces 2013 Tour

Niall Horan may be a member of the hottest boy band around, but his One Direction fans have taken their obsession to a whole new level. The teen's half-eaten toast has sold at auction for almost $100,000! Yes, really.

One Direction appeared on Australia's morning show "Sunrise" yesterday (April 11), and Niall was brave enough to try a piece of toast with the county's famous Vegemite spread. ''Can clearly say vegemite is horrible! Like tryin new stuff though (sic),'' the pop star tweeted after the show. The remains of the unwanted toast were then put up for sale on eBay by the show's Seven network!

''We know you want to get close to your idols. For one lucky Directioner, that dream is about to become an easily digestible reality!" the original eBay listing read. ''Niall Horan from One Direction tried out local delicacy Vegemite when the group appeared on 'Sunrise.' Now, you can be the proud owner of this piece of half-eaten toast which passed the lips of the blond singer! He even tweeted about his experience!" the ad boasted.

Of course the coveted leftovers came with a warning. ''Please note: The item is perishable and although we will package it so that tampering is evident, we do not advise that it is consumed. We will not be including the mouthful that Niall spat out -- because that's just gross." Hilarious!

As ridiculous as it all seems, the treasured toast went up for bidding at $0.99 and eventually fetched nearly $100K -- and for a worth cause. Proceeds will reportedly benefit the children's charity YoungCare.

If saliva-slathered toast is not your thing, try a ticket to One Direction's just-announce 2013 summer tour! Check out the dates below!
