"Just seen the TV ad for the unauthorized book on me. Yikes!" Simon tweeted over the weekend (April 14). Yikes indeed! The excerpt from Bower's book, which made its way into U.K. tabloids, detailed Simon's, 52, "genuine love" for Minogue, 40 -- sister to pop star Kylie Minogue. He is quoted as saying, "I had a crush on her. It was Dannii's hair, the sexy clothes and the t----. She was foxy. She was a real man's girl. Very feminine."
Cowell's representative Max Clifford has seemingly verified the allegations, telling Britain's Daily Express, "Simon was on his own at the time and she was on her own, too. There was a natural chemistry between them. It's not something he wanted to come out now but it has -- there is nothing unusual about it at all."
Aside from the whole mixing business with pleasure thing, the timing may not be the best for Minogue. Just days ago she announced her split from her boyfriend of four years, English model Kris Smith. The couple, who began dating in August 2008, have a 21-month-old son together.
