Britney Spears Conservatorship: Jason Trawick Granted Legal Say in Fiancée's Finances

As Britney Spears gets ready to close an estimated $15 million contract with "The X Factor," the pop star's husband-to-be, Jason Trawick, will now have a legal say in how Brit makes and manages her fortune. Spear's former manager-turned-fiancé has been named the diva's co-conservator -- a job he will share with Brit's father, Jamie Spears.

According to a TMZ source, Papa Spears' lawyers said their client is "thrilled" to share the burden of Brit's business affairs with his future son-in-law. After Jamie submitted the application for Trawick's co-conservatorship last month (March), the request was approved by a California judge on Wednesday (April 25).

"Obviously, her future husband needs to have a say in her well being," Los Angeles probate attorney Jeffrey S. Cohen previously told E! News. "This is a very unusual situation, because generally you don't see conservatees get married. This could be a sign that the couple's wedding is around the corner," the lawyer speculated.

Still, E! reports that Trawick will not have as much power as the 30-year-old entertainer's dad does. Following a review hearing in July, Jason's job will be limited to the singer's personal, day-to-day finance decisions, while Jamie and his attorney Andrew Wallett will continue to control her estate.

It will be a matter of time before Brittney begins to resent her 'fiance' controlling her purse strings. There have been rumors that he is emotionally controlling, now add the financial aspect into the equation, spells trouble. As Dr. Phil once said, 'no woman wants to climb in bed w/ her father'.
