It's shaping up to be a huge day for the Backstreet Boys! Just as member A.J. McLean announced that he and his wife Rochelle Karidis are expecting their first child together, the band posted a video announcement on their official website about Richardson's return. "I think we should let them in on the secret we have," Nick Carter says in the footage taken during BSB's show with fellow boy-turned-man band New Kids on the Block at London's O2 Arena.
"Since we love you guys so much, especially in London, that we are going to come back, we are going to be back in July to record the next Backstreet Boys album this year," the singer told concert-goers.
Then Brian Littrell, Richardson's cousin, broke the big news, saying, "There's two parts to that secret ... And Kevin is coming back!" Naturally, the crowd went wild.
The man of the hour later took to his Twitter page to confirm the news, writing, "Hello beau-ti-ful people. Yes, the cat is OFFICIALLY out of the bag. It's on and crackin!"
Luckily, Kevin's departure from the group was as amicable as a breaking-up-the-band move could be. "After 13 years of what can only be described as a dream come true, I have decided that it is time to leave the Backstreet Boys," he posted on their website nearly six years ago. "It was a very tough decision for me but one that was necessary in order to move on with the next chapter of my life." Now, on to the new chapter of the Backstreet Boys!
