'Glee,' 'Choke' Songs: Season 3, Episode 18

Glee Choke SongsFOX

In this week's episode of "Glee," it's Kurt and Rachel's time to shine in their NYADA auditions. But the college hopefuls are thrown off when they find out they'll be performing in front of the school's dean, Carmen Tibideaux, played by none other than Whoopi Goldberg. Let's hope they don't "Choke!"

The besties both take on what they know best -- show tunes. Kurt solos on "Not the Boy Next Door" from the musical "The Boy From Oz," while Rachel performs "Don't Rain on My Parade" from "Funny Girl," marking her second time performing the tune on the show. The first was during Season One's "Sectionals" episode. Rachel also covers Kelly Clarkson's "Cry." We hope that's not an indication of how she did during the audition!

More selections from classic musicals include, "The Rain in Spain" from "My Fair Lady" sung by the New Directions' males, "The Music of the Night" from "The Phantom of the Opera" by Kurt, Brittany, Tina and Mercedes and a saucy reenactment of the vengeful "Cell Block Tango" from "Chicago" by Santana, Brittany, Mercedes, Tina and Sugar. Bringing it back to the world of pop, the ladies also cover Florence + the Machine's hit "Shake It Out."

Puck's father, played by Thomas Calabro, is introduced for the first time when he unexpectedly shows up in Lima and Puck solos on Alice Cooper's "School's Out."
