First Grader Suspended for Singing 'Sexy and I Know It': D'Avonte Meadows Accused of Sexual Harassment Over LMFAO Hit

LMFAO are unapologetic "party rockers," but it looks like their carefree, fun-loving example has landed one of their very young fans in trouble at school. A first grade student in Aurora, Colo. has been suspended for singing the lyrics to the band's hit, "Sexy and I Know It!"

"I only just said the song," 6-year-old D'Avonte Meadows told 7NEWS, "I'm sexy and I know it." The elementary school student was suspended for sexual harassment, after he sang the LMFAO song to a female student while in line for lunch. D'Avonte's mother Stephanie Meadows admitted that her son has previously gotten himself into trouble at school, but that she couldn't understand the Aurora public school's latest disciplinary decision.

"I could understand if he was fondling [a student], looking up her skirt, trying to look in her shirt. That, to me, is sexual harassment," she said. "I'm just, I'm floored. They're going to look at him like he's a pervert. And it's like, that's not fair to him."

However, this wasn't the first time the self-proclaimed "sexy" 6 year old attempted to serenade his classmate. Stephanie admitted that D'Avonte quoted the same lyrics from the song to the same girl, only that time, "shaking his booty" near the girl's face. "I'm going to definitely have to sit with him and see if he understands exactly what the song means," Meadows said. D'Avonte was also suspended earlier in the year for disruptive behavior -- unrelated to being sexy and knowing it.

Still, the mom clearly thinks the school administration overreacted. "I think it's kind of overwhelming. You know, sexual harassment on a 6 year old?" Meadows said. "I don't understand. You know, kids are kids."
