Britney Spears 'X Factor' Contract: Singer Demanded More Money Than J.Lo Got for 'American Idol' (REPORT)

While negotiating her deal with "X Factor," TMZ reports, Britney Spears had one key stipulation: She had to make more money than Jennifer Lopez did on her first season of "American Idol." Since J.Lo pulled in $12 million, Brit wouldn't take less than $13 million, and as sources tell the gossip site, she initially asked for $20 million.

In the end, Spears got $15 million, about $5 million less than Lopez is rumored to have hauled in for her recently wrapped second 'Idol' season. TMZ's spies insist J.Lo actually made less, however, and what's more, diminished ratings might mean a lower paycheck offer next season.

If Lopez can't get Britney-level cash, will she bail on "Idol?" That remains to be seen. Even fellow judge Steven Tyler isn't sure what the singer, dancer and actress will decide.

"I asked her the other night onstage," Tyler said in an interview with TMZ. "Her response? 'I don't know.'"

Wow, that’s some serious cash to get just to star on X Factor. I enjoy the show and I’ve yet to see how good Britney Spears's going to be. Can she make this show better or will it flop with her. I’ve watched X Factor for a bit and now I can enjoy it more commercial free. I can enjoy it without being yanked to commercials every ten minutes. The Auto Hop feature makes a great addition to PrimeTime Anytime. I think it’s great I have the choice of skipping over the commercials without having to push buttons. I hate the commercials and I always have to manually fast forward them. I’m glad my coworker at Dish told me about this great new feature, now my family and I can save a ton of time not watching commercials. This will also save battery life on my remote as well as wear and tear.
