"I look at Gaga and I think, 'How does she do it?'" John told the magazine, commenting on Gaga's recent weight loss. "I talk to her mum and dad about it. They worry," he added. "She is frail, and she doesn't eat when she should do, and she's a girl, and it's tougher for a girl," Elton continued, noting the pressures on female entertainers to maintain an impossibly slim figure.
Mother Monster has been hitting the gym hard lately in a bid to fit into the revealing stage costumes for her Born This Way Ball tour. The 26-year-old singer worried fans when she revealed her intense workout routine and restrictive diet on Twitter, followed by the exclamation, "Pop stars don't eat." The message came shortly after Gaga revealed her past struggles with bulimia.
"She works really hard," Elton continued. "She will be in Denmark one night and Saudi Arabia the next. I know how tiny she is and I do worry about her, yes."
