Pink, Gallbladder Removed: Singer Has Surgery After Experiencing Extreme Stomach Pains

After tweeting a photo of herself in a hospital bed while hooked up to an IV drip last week, it looks like Pink was sick with more than just the stomach flu, as she told fans.

The singer pulled out of a performance at a fundraising gala for President Obama earlier this week (June 6) and was forced to celebrate her daughter Willow's first birthday from the hospital. "So now I've let down my daughter and the President. Wow. Great week," she wrote on Twitter. Well, now we know why -- Pink has undergone surgery to have her gallbladder removed!

"She had these bad stomach pains and didn't know what it was, and then it got really bad," a source told Life & Style magazine. "They realized she needed to have her gallbladder taken out." In addition to the stomach flu, Pink told fans she was taking the painkiller morphine in order to numb the pain of what she thought may be an ulcer, which she has suffered from in the past.

"Pink had her gallbladder removed and is out of the hospital recovering nicely," her rep confirmed to E! News. The singer posted the following hilarious tweet to make light of the whole health scare.

Get well soon, Pink!

interesting.
I had a gall bladder attack back in 1998 (confirmed by a doctor), yes it hurt like hell then but I still have my bladder, lol.
as for people talking about the morphine, get over it,. You're so brainwashed. Not everyone who uses prescription drugs or is given them will be hooked on them.

I got percocet back in 1996 after getting my wisdom teeth taken out and haven't used them since then. i was done after that one prescription - one bottle, no refills - ran out.

Wow some should feel pretty silly with all the slams they made against her for morphine comment she made. I had figured she was in for something else besides stomach flu........ most don't tell the real reason for why they are in there. Get Better Pink...............

I was so lucky that I had no pain before my gall baldder was taken out.I could feel something when I leaned over or when driving and turning the wheel to the left.I told the Dr that in my Mother's family 10 of them already had their gall bladders out.My Mother had hers out years ago and was in a lot of pain for 4 months. She had a crappy Dr who wouldn't take x- rays. She finally saw another Dr who found 3 big rocks as he called them rolling around in her gall baldder.

Now everyone who was concerned about why she got morphine for the stomach flu can relax. Hope she feels better soon.
