98 Degrees Reunion: Nick and Drew Lachey Confirm Boy Band Will Play One-Off Show in Hershey, Pa.

Laura Rauch, AP

Perfect timing: As temperatures creep toward 98 degrees on the East Coast, 98 Degrees have announced a one-off summer reunion show in Hershey, Pa., Perez Hilton reports. Calling in earlier today to On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Nick and Drew Lachey revealed that their beloved '90s boy band will appear at the Summer Mixtape Festival on Aug. 18 and play its first concert in more than a decade.

"We're very excited about the opportunity, and we've been toying around with the idea for a couple years of: 'if we got back together, when would be the right scenario, and this music festival right here just kind of seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feels," Drew told Seacrest.

The news comes months after Nick shot down rumors of a reunion tour -- something he still says isn't going to happen, at least not this summer.

"I didn't say we weren't going to do it, but there was some speculation about a full tour happening this summer and our fans have been kind of eager to see us get back together," he told Seacrest. "I just wanted to make sure that they understood that a full tour wasn't happening this summer, but obviously very excited to announce that we're doing this big festival in Hershey in August. So, that will be our one and only appearance."

They are not a "band". They are a "group". Bands play instruments.

The headline on the main page said "band reunites". Bands play instruments. Journey, Metallica, Rush, & Radiohead are bands. 4 or 5 guys prancing around on stage in a pop music fashion show are NOT a band.
