The Spice Girls reunited in London earlier today (June 26) to promote "Viva Forever," a new musical inspired by their greatest hits, the U.K.'s Telegraph reports. Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Mel C hadn't appeared together in public since 2008, when they wrapped their reunion tour, and for today's event, they met on the steps of the St. Pancras Hotel, the scene of their famous "Wannabe" video.

"It's a brilliant musical," says Bunton, aka Baby Spice, in the video below, praising "Viva Forever" for its strong story and focus on motherhood.

"I think the musical is testimony 'Girl Power' has longevity," said Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, referencing the pop quintet's '90s-era female-empowerment slogan. "Who would have thought 16 years later our songs and the message of that is still standing and still carries on, just in a different way?"

"Viva Forever" opens Dec. 11 on London's West End.
