Willow Smith 'I Am Me' Video Premieres: 11-Year-Old Star Does Some Soul Searching on the Streets of New York

Who: Willow Smith

What: The music video for the 11-year-old singer's self-acceptance-themed piano ballad, "I Am Me."

The Rundown: Just as critics started cramping her style, attacking her for her supposed wild-child ways, Willow has responded with a new music video. The daughter of Hollywood royalty wanders the streets of New York on her own, preaching her empowering "Be you" message with nothing but her skateboard, keyboard and signature quirky style. "I am me/ I am me/ Here's my vulnerability/ I'm free/ And you can't stop me/ I am me/ And that's all I can be," she sings. Watch Willow's new video below!

Why is she doing "soul searching" to "find herself"? Kids get a sense of security from having secure parents. Mothers and, most importantly, Fathers are supposed to teach their daughters that they are beautiful no matter what the world tells them. Mothers and fathers are supposed to teach their daughters to be young ladies and to never be ashamed about being feminine and wanting to protect their bodies and not just let any and every boy try to touch them.

It's so sad because Willow just seems to be out there on her own. Trying to be an "adult" in a kids body. Every child should enjoy their childhood. Being an adult really sucks sometimes, but at least I have fond childhood memories. She deserves these too, without having to look back at having to play the grown role all her life. We saw what this did to poor Michael Jackson. I'm not making fun of him, but it is an example of how bad it is when kids can't be kids.
