Justin Bieber, Paparazzi Chase: Photog May Be Charged Under New Law That Protects Celebs

As AOL Music Blog recently reported, Justin Bieber was involved in a high speed chase with paparazzi in Los Angeles. Now, the photog involved may be charged under California's new anti-paparazzi law.

According to the "Boyfriend" singer, a photographer attempted to get the teen star's face on camera. Bieber, however, had had enough of the trailing photog and began driving over 100 miles per hour on a California freeway, whipping and weaving through traffic.

No one was harmed during the ordeal, but that doesn't mean it's over. TMZ reports that the California Highway Patrol has recommended to the L.A. City Attorney that the over-zealous photographer be charged with reckless driving.

Cops have also asked that the snapper be charged under a new anti-paparazzi law that prohibits photogs from endangering others while trying to capture video or take photos.

If Los Angeles finds the high speed picture-taker guilty, he could spend up to one year in prison. Bieber on the other hand, got off with a speeding ticket.

When you CHOOSE to be famous---being photgraphed is PART of the Job. if he didnt want to be followed...call the police....they would have gotten rid of the pesjy photographer--beiber is just as guilty as the chaser.

But Bieber should be charged too - The bitch drives around town in a chrome fricking car trying to draw attention - A week ago he was doing the same crap @ Fallbrook & Vanowen - If he doesn't want the attention, don't drive a car that draws soooo much attention. He wants to act like a celeb but as the maturity of a 6 year old little girl - His manager needs to put reiins on him and send his dumb ass back to Canada

All these celebs need to do is slow down and let the idiots take their pictures. Someone in an earlier comment, I think about the Tom Cruise deal, said it very wisely. If you're being chased by the paparazzi(sp?) don't try to speed away. Drive the speed limit. Now you have convoy instead of a high speed chase.

Please charge any and all Paparazzi, so these people will slow down. We don't need photographs and breaking news (GOSSIP) every five seconds. These jerks are as annoying as Westboro Baptist Church.

I agree Steve, I've thought this for years!!! I cannot imagine how annoying that must be to not even be able to walk out the door without paparazzi in your face 24/7!!! Oh I'm sure some desire it but I'd bet most just find it infuriating!
