Dev was apparently left "In the Dark" when she signed deals with her record label, and former lawyer and managers, according to a lawsuit she filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (July 30) indicates.

The singer has taken legal action in order to void contracts that give a whopping 75 percent of her income to her handlers and allow them to deduct expenses "off the top" of her share.

The now-23-year-old mother-of-one claims the documents she signed as a naive 18-year-old with Indie-Pop LLC, attorney Joshua Andriano and managers Benjamin Willis and Carlo Fox should be "null and void." The Hollywood Reporter has obtained a copy of the suit and reports that Dev's contracts violate California's Seven Year Rule, which prohibits personal services contracts that extend past a seven-year period.

The then-aspiring pop star claims she signed the "onerous, one-sided agreement" in haste and did not have enough time to fully review the contract as she was told that she "could lose out on important opportunities if she did not sign the document right away." The suit identifies Dev as a victim who was "showered" with "flattery and praise" and therefore, "manipulated" into "believing that she could trust [the defendants] fully."
