"Why is she such a nightmare?" Sir Elton asked rhetorically during an interview on Australia's "Sunday Night." "Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c--t," he added, reigniting one of the music industry's longest standing feuds.
"If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly," John added in a back-handed compliment. "But no, she had to go and prove ... she looks like a f--king fairground stripper," he said of the often scantily clad performer. Ouch -- way harsh, Elton!
The singer also took the opportunity to jump to the defense of his son's godmother, Lady Gaga, in response to Madonna's ongoing accusations that the younger pop star copied Madge's "Express Yourself." "[Madonna's] been so horrible to Gaga," he revealed.
Elton's series of Madonna smack-downs started back in 2004, when he accused Madge of lip-syncing during his acceptance speech at the Q Awards. At this year's Golden Globe Awards, a bitter Elton and his partner David Furnish dissed the pop star after she beat out Elton for the Best Original Song award. Just days later, John gave Madonna a bit of unsolicited advice ahead of her Super Bowl performance, telling her to "lip-sync good."
