Nick Jonas Confirms 'American Idol' Rumors: 'I Am Being Considered to Be a Judge,' the JoBro Tweets

Jason LaVeris, FilmMagic

As the nation continues to lose sleep over who will join Mariah Carey on the "American Idol" judging panel, Nick Jonas has confirmed that he's in talks with the Fox reality show.

"The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens," the Jonas Brothers star tweeted on Saturday, adding the hashtag "#nickonidol."

"Nick is pretty close to signing to be the 'Idol' judge," a source said, lending credence to his Twitter post, according to Contact Music. "They flew him in to L.A. for final meetings."

'''American Idol' producers think he can help bring that younger demo to the show,'" the source added.

Should the JoBro cast his lot with the "Idol" gang, it would still leave one open judging slot, as Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler quit earlier this summer, and Randy Jackson is slated to transition into a mentoring role.

As Contact Music reports, rapper and producer Pharrell Williams is angling for the final spot, and it appears he could be close to finalizing his contract.

''Everything is looking good," a source said, "but they're still working out details.''

Time to quit watching American Idol I guess, if , they can't get anyone better than a Jonas brother...and other ex idols who never made it any further. Sad state of affairs........and do you think having Mariah Carey willing to sit next to a Jonas brother? she'll not be happy.

I’m not a fan of Nick Jonas and I believe he has what it takes to be a judge. I don’t think I would care much to watch the show if he’s going to be on. I think this position should go to someone who posses true talent. I like to watch AI and I’m excited for season 12 but Nick might kill that motivation. In the past I never miss AI, and now I’ll be able to do it commercial free. The Auto Hop feature automatically skips the commercials for me and it doesn’t delete or remove the commercials. This feature simply lets the user decide if you want to skip commercials or not a day after primetime shows have recorded. The commercials will always be there if you want to watch them, auto hop just does the fast forwarding for you. I was thrilled when a couple of my coworkers at Dish told me about its function, and its great not having to manually fast forward any more. This will ease the burden of having to replace my remote batteries often.

They just want to make the BIG BUCKS. These judge seats are reserved for the rich and famous not former idol contestants. I am on ( == BlackWhitePlanet– c 0 /m.СòM ==), met many good guys and beauties, they also want to find true love. Now I have found my l’ove , so I recommend it to you, I hope everyone can find their best l’ove.Goodluck.==(( βlαckwhitеPlanet.СòM)----==

Half the people from the auditions sing better than him. He...he....well he just sucks as a musician. And only made it because of the hype fad that he had. Now the Jonas brothers are pushed aside because they never really had talent to begin with. You see their products at the Good Will on clearance. They need to get real judges that can back up the criticism that they give to the contestants.

This should not be. They are not of notoriety. They just want to make the BIG BUCKS. These judge seats are reserved for the rich and famous not former idol contestants.
