Randy Jackson No Longer 'American Idol' Judge

Randy Jackson, the last original judge at "American Idol," has decided to leave his post on the landmark show.

According to TMZ, the kindhearted "Idol" alum will remain as a mentor to future contestants for the upcoming season. Randy has never worked closely with the show's competitors, so we're sure to see something interesting this time around.

Mariah Carey signed on back in July, and Idol's producers are currently in talks with Nicki Minaj. Insiders say the rapper's contract is "99 percent completed" but it's still not a totally sure thing.

Carey, however, is not a big fan of the "Super Bass" fame, which should provide some on-set lightning for the coming season. Without Randy behind the judges' table, will the format still work?

Every season I wonder what Louis Vuitton Handbags will create. I know I won’t like everything, but I can count on Louis Vuitton to make a few bags that are absolutely lust-worthy, it’s just what they do. When we shared a closer look at their Spring 2012 collection, I remember not being entirely impressed. Of course there was a theme – lightness and femininity paired with a whimsical touch – but as many have said, the bags look like they are made out of plastic (which they aren’t, just look at the price tags). But nestled into this collection is a perfect summer piece, the Louis Vuitton Speedy North South bag. Nautical blue and cream calfskin leather offset one another in a take on the Louis Vuitton Online Outlet house classic.

I basically gave up on AI when they brought Steven Tyler in, & with Randy gone, so am I! American Idol has completely screwed up a good thing they had going! Of course Ryan Seacrest should have been gone years ago!

Get real, people do not watch the show to see the judges. Until America gets tired of this dross, the show will continue for years to come.

Without Randy, this show is definitely finished. Then again it lost me when Paula left.

They're definitely making some decisions that will jeopardise the show, Nicki Minaj is a terrible choice and they are going to find out the very hard and mercilous way obviously.
Carrie Underwood or Kelli Clarkson would have been or can be a way, way, way, way, better choice.
Justin Timberlake would be great for the show.

I agree, Kelly Clarkson would be a very good choice. As well as Justin Timberlake.
But not Carrie Underwood.

I think this could be interesting if they added Adam Lambert. He has had totally different road to get to IDOl than most of those young contestants. He traveled in musical theatre for years, wrote songs and sold them (and got embedded in a lawsuit), performed and wrote songs in an avante garde sort of show in LA (Zodiac) and performed on cruise ships and in cafes, etc. He just sang with Queen this summer, has a new album, and has to beg for radio airplay. He is much more real than any of the judges in my opinion. I'll watch IDOL again if he's on it. I doubt they'll choose him, but he is very witty and lord he can sing.
