Randy Jackson Back on as 'American Idol' Judge

Randy Jackson is back, dawg! The last-standing original "American Idol" judge was thought to have been given the boot by the hit reality singing competition show, but new reports reveal the music mogul has reclaimed his seat on the judges' panel for the upcoming twelfth season.

Former "Idol" original Simon Cowell confirmed the news in a tweet yesterday (Sept. 10), revealing to 3.6 million followers, "Just heard randy is back on idol. Right decision."

As Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announced their departures from the show, previous reports suggested Jackson's time as a judge was also up, and that he would be moved into a less crowd-facing mentor role. According to Deadline, Randy was called back up to the plate shortly after negotiations with Enrique Iglesias fell apart.

After helping orchestrate Mariah Carey's contract with the show as her manager, Randy will now join the diva as a fellow judge. FOX will reportedly announce the new four-seat panel later this week, after the previously rumored deals with Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are finalized.

I get paid over $87 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earns over 10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I've been doing, Blue31.com

Nicki Minaj? Really? She may have the 12-18 tone deaf audience all sewn up, but what she knows about good singing can be fit into a thimble with some room left over. What a joke.

Niki Minaj does not bnng anything to the show. Who respects her and anything she may say.
I would think Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow or Adam Lambert would be much better options, that is
if you really need a 4th judge.

Don't you think they realized if Randy is gone so is the show? Randy is the only real producer in the group and the other 3 have pocket followers. Randy has been as fair as one could expect and is admired for his approach. He clearly doesn't like country but in fairness supported those country singers that could sing.

Notice that there are now 3 blacks and 1 white on the panel? There has been a lot of media complaint regarding the results calling it white boys with guitars. Looks like Keith Urban is now he token other judge.

If the demographics of the voters change so will the results. Not sure if this will help.

The reality is American Idol has pretty much run its course. Remember it has always been American Idol, not the best singer contest. That is what has made it survive. America votes. (no conspiracy comments please)

Randy Jackson is the foundation of American Idol. Without him the show would lose millions of followers.
Can't understand addition of Nicky Menaj. Bad decision bringing her on.
Spot on with adding Maria Carey and Keith Urban. Amazing talents representing pop and country western music.
