While the third season of "The Voice" premiered this week (Sept. 10), the singing competition's star coach, Christina Aguilera, may be ready to call it quits on the show!

"['The Voice'] kept me away from my heart, which is creating my own music," Xtina told Billboard in an interview, which Perez Hilton reports. The Billboard.biz link to the story is currently producing an error message.

"It's been a joy to be a part of other people's journey, to be able to inspire and be a part of new singers coming up in this business. But I was starting to get really worried and concerned that I wouldn't have the time to go and be an artist again," the pop star confessed.

Aguilera isn't the first singing competition judge to point out just how all-consuming the gig can be. Recently departed "American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez admitted, "I have to say there are so many things I do that I put on hold for ['American Idol']." Her co-star Steven Tyler likened "Idol" to a "mistress", with whom he was cheating on his first love, music.

However eager Christina is to get back to work on her music, the singer says that if she does leave, she hasn't ruled out returning to "The Voice" in the future. "I'll probably be back. I just need to do my thing for a minute then I can come back and be that much better of a coach," she revealed.

Aguilera is currently working on her as-yet-untitled seventh studio album. A demo version of one of her new tracks, "Your Body," has already leaked online.
