Christina Aguilera, New Album Reflects Singer's Journey

The confidence Christina Aguilera exudes in her new video for "Your Body" is a celebration of her personal growth over the course of her career.

In an interview with Billboard magazine, the singer describes how the album's title, Lotus, is symbolic of her ability to adapt to change, while also staying true to herself as an artist.

"This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years," she says.

Lotus is hitting stores a decade after the release of Stripped, the album that introduced the world to a more mature, more outspoken Aguilera. Stripped's audience has grown with the "Genie in a Bottle" singer, and Lotus acknowledges that journey.

"There is a new generation of fans from a younger demographic that might not have been with me all the way but that watch me on the show now," Aguilera says. "I feel like every generation should be able to enjoy and have their piece of 'Fighter' within. This time, the way it musically came together it just felt right for this time and this generation. There's always going to be a fighter in me getting through some obstacle and some hurdle."

I think shes a beautiful person, but I dont like went she trys to sing. She always and I mean always over does it with all the screaming Oooooooooooh wooooh woooooh yeaaaaaaaaah! The Eta James funeral was sad but a little funny watching Christinia ruin the classic song "At Last". We all know she can sing, but why does she ruin it by screaming and over doing it? I miss her older music like "What A Girl Wants" "Genie In A Bottle" and "Reflection".

If she is happy with herself and has no health problems, then she shouldn't bother to lose weight. We worry too much about being skinny and not enough about being healthy.

Yes, she's heavier than she used to be, but she's a maturing woman and that happens. All on her whether she thinks she needs to lose the weight or not. I have more of a problem with her kind of diva attitude when you see her interviewed. Wish she would fix that.

Have to agree with you on that. Weight? who cares? women's weight go up and down, but attitude, now that's another story and this is one reason I cannot hear what she says.
